A of the the suspended woman CISF constable Kulwinder Kaur, who slapped Bollywood actress and BJP MP from Mandi, Kangana Ranaut at Chandigarh airport, has surfaced wherein she could be heard saying her mother participated in the farmers’ protest.
A video purportedly showed 35-year-old Kulwinder Kaur yelling that her mother participated in farmers’ protest when Kangana had given a “bad statement" about Punjab women participating in the agitation against the three farm laws.
Kangana Ranaut was slapped by the CISF guard at the Chandigarh airport on Thursday afternoon. She was later suspended and an FIR was registered against her at Chandigarh Airport based on a written complaint by CISF officials. A complaint has also been given by CISF to the local police.
The National Commission for Women (NCW) took cognisance of the incident and condemned the actions of the woman CISF constable. “The NCW is disturbed by todays’s incident with @KanganaTeam at Chandigarh Airport. We condemn this incident and call for immediate suspension and strict action against Ms Kaur if allegations are confirmed. A letter has been sent to Director General CISF by
@sharmarekha," the NCW said in a statement on X.
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini assured that action will be taken against the accused.
“An investigation is underway and action will be taken against the accused. It is sad that a person involved in the security is involved in this. Whatever happened was wrong…" he said.
Kulwinder Kaur, a resident of Kapurthala in Punjab, has been in the service for 15 years. Her husband also serves in the CISF.
The incident comes days after Kangana Ranaut defeated her closest rival Vikramaditya Singh of Congress by a margin of over 74,000 votes and won Mandi in Lok Sabha election 2024.
