The CISF woman constable Kulwinder Kaur, who slapped Bollywood actress and BJP MP from Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi, Kangana Ranaut on Thursday, has been suspended. An FIR is being registered against the CISF constable at Chandigarh Airport based on a written complaint by CISF officials. A complaint has also been given by CISF to the local police.
Chandigarh SP (Detective) KS Sandhu said, “CISF Commandant has called me, I am going to the airport for investigation. I will Commandant CISF and let you know…”
Earlier in the day, Kangana Ranaut arrived at the Mohali International Airport to catch a flight to Delhi. When she reached the SHA area for a security check, a lady constable of CISF Kulwinder Kaur frisked her and then slapped the BJP MP.
Kulwinder Kaur said that Kangna Ranaut gave a bad statement about Punjab women during the farmers’ agitation against three farm laws.
Kangna Ranaut said that she will file a complaint to the Home Ministry in Delhi.
The National Commission for Women (NCW) took cognisance of the incident and condemned the actions of the woman CISF constable. “The NCW is disturbed by todays’s incident with @KanganaTeam at Chandigarh Airport. We condemn this incident and call for immediate suspension and strict action against Ms Kaur if allegations are confirmed. A letter has been sent to Director General CISF by
@sharmarekha,” the NCW said in a statement on X.
Kangana also took to her X handle to talk about the incident via a video message. While she assured her fans of her well-being, she questioned terrorism and violence in Punjab.
