With everyone speculating on the possible demands of BJP’s NDA partners ahead of the formation of the government, sources close to Shiv Sena informed CNN-News18 that Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s son, Shrikant Shinde, won’t be considered for a Cabinet berth. It has been learnt that the party is considering the names of some senior and experienced party MPs for the big post.

According to sources, Sena is likely to propose the name of Pratap Rao Jadhav for the post of central minister.

In addition to this, the Chandrababu Naidu-led Telugu Desam Party is likely to propose the name of Rammohan Naidu as their first preference for a cabinet berth.

Alliance Partners Eye These Key Posts In Modi Cabinet

After becoming the second largest constituent in the BJP-led NDA with 16 MPs, the TDP is speculated to wishing for at least three to four berths in the Union Cabinet. Notably, the party had one minister and one MoS in earlier term with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) with same number of 16 seats as now.

According to sources, the TDP is expecting MoS Finance now, plus two-three other full ministries.

It was speculated that Shiv Sena chief Eknath Shinde with seven seats could also join the Union Cabinet with a minister and an MoS berth.

Meanwhile, sources said JD(U) could be eyeing three cabinet berths plus an MoS berth this time as well. Ministries close to Bihar’s interests like Agriculture, Rural Development and Jal Shakti are being spoken about for the JD(U). Lallan Singh as a minister is being speculated as well.
