Sikkim will vote in simultaneous Assembly elections along with the Lok Sabha polls in the April-May cycle. The tenure of the current Assembly ends on June 2, 2024. The BJP has an informal alliance with the ruling SKM, whose government it supports from the outside. After the 2019 elections, 10 MLAs of the SDF had switched over to the BJP, making it the second-largest party in the Assembly overnight. Later, the BJP also won by-elections to two seats, taking its tally to 12.
