Currently, many women-centric films are being released that have become popular with audiences across the world. This year, several films are making waves on OTT after their theatrical releases. One such film dominating OTT these days is Crew. The comedy-drama film has taken the OTT world by storm and has created a different place in the minds of the audience.
Crew was released in March of this year. It features Kareena Kapoor, Tabu and Kriti Sanon in lead roles. Kapil Sharma and Diljit Dosanjh have also made cameos in this movie.
The story of the film revolves around Geeta Sethi (Tabu), Jasmine Kohli (Kareena Kapoor) and Divya Rana (Kriti Sanon). Airlines in which all three work as air hostesses go bankrupt and none of these three are getting a salary. All three were then involved in gold smuggling in the film. The story of the film is about how their lives take a different turn. The movie is directed by Rajesh A Krishnan. Along with this, Ekta Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor have produced the movie.
Kareena Kapoor, Tabu and Kriti Sanon’s Crew had a bumper worldwide following its release. The film earned Rs 89 crore at the domestic box office. At the same time, Crew had collected Rs 157 crore worldwide.
Following its theatrical success, Crew is finally streaming on the OTT platform Netflix. The film has become a top hit and is ranked among the top 10 trending films in the country. Despite a mixed IMDB rating of 6.2 out of 10, the film continues to enthral viewers.
Earlier, Netflix shared the poster for the release date of the film with the caption, “Consider our hearts (and sona) officially stolen. Crew is landing on Netflix at midnight!.”
The makers of the film, Rhea Kapoor and Ektaa R Kapoor, also shared, “We are thrilled to bring ‘Crew’ to Netflix after its successful theatrical run. News18 Showsha gave the film 3.5 stars and wrote, “Crew is a stunning film to look at. Tabu, Kareena, and Kriti look drop-dead gorgeous, and kudos to the costume department for the same! The women involved with putting the film together – co-producers Rhea Kapoor and Ektaa R Kapoor and co-writer Nidhi Mehra deserve applause. Because womanhood in Crew is never used as a device to push out loaded statements on modern-day feminism, even while portraying women as ambitious and unapologetic beings and celebrating sisterhood. The protagonists are flawed and relatable, but not undesirable.”
