Popular Korean singer Yoon Min Soo and his wife Kim Min Ji have decided to part ways after 18 years of marriage. The couple exchanged vows in 2006 and are proud parents of Yoon Hoo whom they welcomed in the same year. Announcing the separation, Kim, in an Instagram post, shared that the decision to proceed with a divorce was mutual.
Reflecting on her journey with Yoon through a heartfelt post, she wrote, “Yoon Hoo’s father and I met when we were young and got married. We’ve tried our best to stay together through tough and happy times and maintain our family relationship, but it has become too difficult for both of us, so we have decided to end it here.”
Urging netizens to refrain from speculations, she further mentioned, “Even though we are parting ways, we have trust and respect for each other and will continue to do our best as Yoon Hoo’s parents. We kindly ask that you refrain from making any speculations or assumptions.”
Yoon Min Soo is a prominent ballad singer, particularly known for leaving an indelible mark as a member of the legendary duo, Vibe. The family rose to popularity after they participated in MBC’s ‘Dad! Where Are We Going?’ from 2013 to 2015. Their appearance in the show solidified their mark in the industry as well as the public eye, further earning widespread acclaim.
The South Korean R&B ensemble, Vibe first entered the music scene as a trio in 2002. It included the singers Yoon Min Soo, Ryu Jae Hyun, and rapper Yoo Sung Gyu. However, Yoo Sung Gyu exited the group after the release of their second album. Well, his departure did not have any negative impact as Vibe continued to rule the charts.
The hit songs such as Love Me Once Again, Long Long Time, While Looking at the Picture, That Man, That Woman, Drinking, and Come Back to Me led the ensemble to make waves in the music scene despite the change.
