T20 World Cup 2024: All Squads of 20 Teams

The Group A favourites, team India, have decided to hand the captaincy responsibilities to Rohit Sharma once again, with Hardik Pandya being his deputy for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024. Rishabh Pant might have his big chance at a comeback in international cricket with the inclusion in the squad. Heavyweight bowlers like Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, and Yuzvendra Chahal have been picked by BCCI. KL Rahul, who was part of India's last two T20 World Cup campaigns has been left out this time and young batters like Shubman Gill and Rinku Singh have been kept as reserves.

Like the last edition of the T20 World Cup, Babar Azam will also lead Pakistan this year. Top batters like Mohammad Rizwan and Fakhar Zaman, bowlers like Haris Rauf and Shaheen Shah Afridi, and all-rounders like Shadab Khan are part of the 15-man squad. Abrar Ahmed, Azam Khan, Mohammad Abbas Afridi, Saim Ayub, and Usman Khan might make their debut in the T20 World Cup this year. However, Hasan Ali has failed to make the cut.

The defending champions have brought back Jofra Archer to the international cricketing scene, by including him in the Jos Butler-led World T20 2024 squad. England has opted for top-order options like Jonny Bairstow, Will Jacks, and Ben Duckett. Youngster Harry Brook has also made it to the squad. Frontline bowlers like Mark Wood and Reece Topley and Adil Rashid are also part of the 15-man troop.

Australia's selection panel has opted for experience over youth power for their T20 World Cup 2024 squad. 24-year-old Cameron Green is the only player under 28 in the 15-man squad. Mitchell Marsh is to lead the squad of hard-hitters like David Warner, Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Tim David and Matthew Wade (wk). Australia's bowling department is also top-notch with players like Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, and Josh Hazelwood in the squad, among others.

Kane Williamson has been named the skipper of the New Zealand side for the T20 World Cup, for the fourth time. Experienced players like Tim Southee and Trent Boult have made it to NZ's T20 World Cup squad for the seventh and fifth time, respectively. Youngsters like Rachin Ravindra and Matt Henry might be seen playing their first ICC T20 World Cup in 2024. Despite being out of IPL 2024 with a thumb injury, opener, and wicketkeeper Devon Conway finds a place in the 15-member squad as well.

Rovman Powell will lead the Windies squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024, with Alzarri Joseph as his deputy. Shamar Joseph, who made his Test debut in a series against Australia earlier this year, is now set to feature in his first-ever T20 World Cup. Big-hitting all-rounders include Nicholas Pooran, Andre Russell, and Shimron Hetmyer. Akeal Hossain, Alzarri Joseph, and Gudakesh Motie are part of the bowling department.

Skipper Aiden Markram will be leading South Africa in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. Keeper-batter Quinton de Kock, Heinrich Klaasen, and David Miller can boost South Africa's top order. Uncapped T20I players Ottniel Baartman and Ryan Rickelton also found a place in the squad. Players like Anrich Nortje, Kagiso Rabada, and Keshav Maharaj might spearhead their bowling attack.

Najmul Hossain Shanto will be leading Bangladesh's 15-member squad for the T20 World Cup 2024. Taskin Ahmed has been named the vice-captain despite his injury. Veteran batter Mahmudullah and Shakib Al Hasan, who made their comeback in March and May this year, respectively are also a part of the squad. Litton Das has also found a place in the squad, despite his poor performances in white-ball cricket this year.

Wanindu Hasaranga will be leading Sri Lanka in the upcoming T20 World Cup, scheduled to be held in the USA and West Indies. Charith Asalanka has been named the vice-captain of the 15-man squad including Dilshan Madhushanka, Dasun Shanaka, and CSK's Matheesha Pathirana. Sri Lanka's ODI skipper Kushal Mendis and Test skipper Dhananjaya De Silva form the experienced part of the troop.

Afghanistan has opted for a fresh squad and leader for their upcoming Men’s T20 World Cup venture. Rashid Khan has been named captain, with Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Noor Ahmad, Nangyal Kharoti, and veteran Mohammad Nabi supporting him in the spin department. Youngsters Nangyal Kharoti and wicketkeeper batter Mohammad Ishaq have also found a place in the squad. Hashmatullah Shahidi, the skipper of the last edition of Afghanistan's T20 World Cup squad has been dropped this time.

Ireland’s batting lineup features Harry Tector, Lorcan Tucker, Ross Adair, and Curtis Campher. Left-arm seamer Josh Little, who is currently playing for the Gujarat Titans in the ongoing edition of the IPL, is also a part of the 15-man squad. In their eighth appearance in the T20 World Cup, Ireland will be facing India in their first group-stage match on June 5.

Monank Patel will lead the Men's T20 World Cup 2024 co-hosting team USA in the upcoming big tournament. Interestingly, former New Zealand international Corey Anderson features in the squad. The former U-19 World Cup 2012-winning Indian captain Unmukt Chand has not made it to the USA's 15-man squad. However, players like Milind Kumar, Harmeet Singh, and Jessy Singh have not let Team USA be devoid of Indian representation.

Nepal's T20 World Cup 2024 squad consists of mostly youngsters in their twenties, with the youngest being a 19-year-old bowling all-rounder Pratish Gharti Chhetri, and the oldest, who is also the only 30+ player in the squad, Karan Khatri Chhetri. They will be making their second appearance in the T20 World Cup after their debut in 2014. The current Nepal national cricket team skipper, Rohit Paudel, will be leading the young guns in their ensuing big-stage clash too.

Wicket-keeper-batter Scott Edwards will once again lead the Netherlands. Big names like Roelof van der Merwe and Colin Ackermann missed being part of the squad due to injuries. Bas de Leede, Tim Pringle, Kyle Klein, and hard-hitting opener Michael Levitt make up the squad's key players. “We have been able to select a well-balanced team which we are confident will be able to perform in the conditions against the opposition we face in the US and West Indies,” Head coach Ryan Cook said.

Saad Bin Zafar will captain Canada in its first-ever appearance at the Men’s T20 World Cup. The squad features mostly senior players, with Harsh Thaker, Nicholas Kirton, and Dilpreet Bajwa being the only players under the age of 30. Uncapped batter Kanwarpal Tathgur has also found a place in the troop. All-rounders like Bin Zafar, Thaker, and Dilon Heyliger have added weight to Canada's 15-man squad.

T20 World Cup 2024 will be Oman's third time participating in the big tournament, after 2016 and 2021. Aqib Ilyas, who made his debut for Oman in 2015 and acted as a deputy, is named their skipper for the upcoming edition of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup, which will be held across June in the USA and West Indies. Former skipper Zeeshan Maqsood is also part of the 15-member side, having led the team since the 2016 edition.

The Richie Berrington-led Scots will be featuring in their sixth-ever T20 World Cup this year. Michael Jones and Brad Wheal returned to Scotland’s 15-member T20 World Cup squad, while seasoned pacer Josh Davey missed out. “It was a really difficult selection meeting, and it’s never easy getting it down to a squad of 15. It was ultimately about getting the balance of the squad just right, and we feel we’ve done that here,” Scotland head coach Doug Watson said.

Uganda will be making its first historic World Twenty20 appearance in 2024. Brian Masaba has been named the captain, with Riazat Ali Shah as his deputy. 43-year-old Uganda off-spinner Frank Nsubuga is set to become the oldest cricketer to play at a T20 World Cup after being named in his team’s 15-member squad. Hard-hitting batters Riazat Ali Shah and Dinesh Nakrani also made it to the squad.

All-rounder Gerhard Erasmus has been named Namibia's skipper and JJ Smit their vice-captain for the ninth edition of ICC Men's T20 World Cup. Dylan Leicher, Ruben Trumpelmann, and Jack Brassell, who featured in the U19 Cricket World Cup earlier this year have made it to the World T20 squad too. All-rounder Nicol Loftie-Eaton and veteran Pikky Ya France comprise their biggest omissions this year.

Assadollah Vala will be leading Papua New Guinea in their second appearance at the ICC Men's T20 World Cup. “The energy has also been great within the team...I am looking forward to this event (T20 World Cup) because I know we are going to do well,” skipper Vala said. 10 of the 15 players picked for their 2024 campaign were also part of the squad in 2021. Leg-spinning all-rounder CJ Amini has been named the vice-captain of the 15-man squad.
