The OLED iPad Pro is already here and now it is time for the Macs.

OLEDs are going to be a big part of Apple's future lineup and we have already seen it offered with the 2024 iPad Pro models.

Apple is likely to launch its MacBook Pro with an OLED display in 2026, as per a report by market research firm OMIDA. The report also suggests that the consumer demand for OLED displays in mobile devices like Smartphones, Tabs or Laptops will increase by 37 per cent between 2023-31.

Apple’s pro models included their strongest Apple Silicon Processor, but the company is yet to unveil its first MacBook Pro with an OLED display, which will offer better picture quality to the users.

“Apple is highly likely to incorporate OLED into its MacBook Pro models as early as 2026,” said Ricky Park, Senior Principal Analyst at the research firm, as quoted by Gadgets 360.

OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diodes) screens control each pixel independently, resulting in more accurate colour reproduction as compared to LCD and LED displays. These displays also provide higher contrast, fast response times, better viewing angles and great design flexibility.

However, there’s no official notification from Apple regarding the OLED display coming to the upcoming versions of MacBook Pro.

Meanwhile, Apple recently launched its iPad Pro model with an OLED display, which is the company’s first tablet to feature an OLED screen. As per a recent report, the tech giant is expecting to ship over 9 million units of the iPad Pro models.

The report from OMIDA also suggests that the anticipated demand for the Ultra Retina XDR OLED-equipped iPad Pro is expected to triple in 2024.

Speculations were also there that Apple is planning to add OLED displays to its entire iPad lineup soon. This includes both the iPad Air and the iPad Mini versions. This development could increase the demand for OLED tablets to above 30 million units by 2029.

A recent report also suggested that Samsung has already begun developing a new 8-inch display pattern for the iPad Mini versions and Apple would update their iPad lineups with the OLED technology by 2026.

Also, it was recently reported that Apple might be gearing up to embrace the foldable trend with its upcoming iPad version in the future. The Elec, earlier reported that the tech giant is in the planning stages for a compact foldable iPad version (approx. 7 to 8-inch) which the company is likely to unveil between 2026 and 2027 in the market.
