WWE NXT’s latest episode made a return yesterday, June 4. The show aired live from the company’s performance centre in Florida. The NXT night was advertised to host TNA Knockout’s Champion Jordynne Grace’s debut match against Stevie Turner. Later on the show, the Heritage Cup champion Tony D’Angelo put his trophy on the line against the No Quarter Catch crew’s Damon Kemp. The latest NXT episode also featured a six-man tag-team action match featuring the wrestlers who will compete at the brand’s premium live event Battleground next week. The said clash will be a ladder match for the Women’s NXT North American Championship title.
TNA Knockouts Champions Jordynne Grace wins on her debut
Jordynne Grace made her appearance on NXT last month as Roxanne Perez’s new title contender for Battleground. Ahead of the championship clash, Grace faced off against Stevie Turner in her debut with NXT. The ex-TNA wrestler dominated the clash with multiple bodyslams. She then hit Tuner with the Vader Bomb before staring down Perez at ringside. Grace then finished off her opponent with the Juggernaut Driver to seal a win.
Tony D’Angelo retains his NXT Heritage Cup
Tony D’Angelo began his title defence by securing an early fall. He hit Damon Kemp with a Bridging Fisherman Suplex to go 1-0 up. Round two ended without a fall for any wrestlers due to exhaustion of the time limit. The third round witnessed a similar story after Damon landed a Rolling Nothern Lights but failed to capitalise within the time limit. D’Angelo finished off Kemp with another fisherman suplex to retain the NXT Heritage Cup.
Ethan Page Becomes Official Member Of The NXT Roster
After attacking Trick Williams last month, Ethan Page wanted to have a contract negotiation with the WWE brand in front of the fans. Page got his wish as NXT manager Ava handed the wrestling star a contract inside the ring. Page then signed it and handed it over to the manager while revealing a stipulation that would hand the wrestler a NXT Championship match at Battleground. Ava eventually signs the contract to give Page a title shot.
