Al-Nassr ended their season with a heartbreaking defeat to Al-Hilal in the Kings Cup of Champions final. Following the loss, Al-Nassr’s Cristiano Ronaldo was spotted crying inconsolably on the field. Ronaldo did end the season on a heartbreaking note but in terms of his individual achievements, the latest campaign turned out to be a historic one for the Portuguese legend.
Ronaldo, at the age of 39, scored 50 goals across all competitions representing Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr last season. Ronaldo’s stellar performance was enough for him to claim the Saudi Pro League Golden Boot award for the 2023-24 season.
With this, Ronaldo became the first footballer to win Golden Boots in four different countries. Ronaldo’s 35 goals in the Saudi Pro League last season also marked the highest tally ever posted in a single edition in that particular division.
Ronaldo also touched the 50-goal mark in a single season for the first time since 2016 when he was plying his trade for the European giants Real Madrid.
The record-breaking achievements saw Al-Nassr referring to Ronaldo as the GOAT (Greatest Of All Time) and the “No.1 in May.” Sharing a picture of the five-time Ballon d’Or winner on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Al-Nassr wrote, “No. 1 in history. No. 1 in May. Player Of The Month.”

Having capped off a record-breaking season, Ronaldo is now spending some quality time with his family members. Ronaldo will shift his focus to the international circuit as he is all set to take part in the Euros 2024.
Ronaldo is currently the only male footballer to have represented Portugal at five editions of the Euros and he is expected to stretch the record-breaking run to six this month. The Portuguese international is also the only male player to net three or more goals in multiple editions of the Euros. Ronaldo played a key role in guiding Portugal to Euros triumph in 2016.
