A resident of Haryana’s Charkhi Dadri, Divyansh cracked NEET UG 2024 and became the national topper with a perfect 720/720 score. The results of NEET UG 2024 were recently declared on June 4. According to reports, Divyansh, with the dream of becoming a doctor, went to Rajasthan’s Kota along with his mother and siblings to prepare for the medical entrance examination. According to him, the “competitive environment” of the city is the main reason behind his success.
After the provisional answer key was out, Divyansh shared, “I could not believe my eyes while checking the answers. It felt like it was my answer script. I was waiting to see the results, as I was confident of securing a good rank in the NEET UG.”
Divyansh further shared that his father, Jitendra, and his uncle were in the Indian army. Even before this, people in his family had been serving the country by serving in the army. Seeing them, he also wanted to join the army and appear for the NDA exam. When he told his father about his feelings, he said he wanted Divyansh to become a doctor and serve society. After this, he came to Kota on June 15, 2023, and took admission at the Allen Institute.
When asked about his exam preparation technique, Divyansh said he did not use social media and followed a disciplined schedule. In the morning, he used to go to the Allen coaching classes at 8:30 and studied there till noon. After that, he used to play with his siblings for some time and then do self-study.
According to him, he found coaching material and NCERT books enough for NEET UG preparation. Overall, he used to devote 10 hours a day during the last phase of preparation.
He also said that in his first minor test, he scored a perfect 720 out of 720, which boosted his confidence level. But later, due to dengue and a severe lung condition, he scored 686 out of 720. He started getting demotivated, but he also added that he was also determined enough to start fresh.
But he further suffered health problems. After recovering from the lung condition, he then contracted dengue and was bedridden for a week. Once he recovered, his mother fell ill. He took care of her and visited the hospital daily. Once everything was sorted, he restarted. It took about 10–15 days for him to get back on track. During that time, other students were far ahead of him, but he focused on himself and followed his teachers’ guidance which helped him to achieve this success.
