In an interview with Local 18, Isha mentioned that she belongs to a middle-class family. Her father Krishna Kumar runs a grocery shop (Kirana store) while her mother is a housewife. Isha’s mother formerly was a teacher in a private school. But she left the job to take care of her children and their studies.
While talking to Local 18, Isha dedicated her success to her parents. When asked about her preparation she said, “I mainly focused on self-study and offline mock tests. I attended special coaching classes in Patna for some days but self-studying helped me to touch this milestone today. I aspired to be a doctor for a long time and finally, I cracked the exam after four attempts.” She further mentioned that she has worked very hard to achieve this milestone.
Isha’s father became emotional while talking in the interview. He shared how his daughter cracked the examination despite several hardships. He said, “My son is currently studying in a private medical college. Due to his expenses, I couldn’t afford private college for my daughter. That is why I told Isha to prepare for the NEET exam. Today, she has made me proud.” He further mentioned that funding the education expenses of his two children by running a grocery shop was tough. So, he had to take loans to manage them.
Isha’s mother, Geeta Kumari said that she is extremely happy for what her daughter has achieved. She added,” I am very happy today. I used to work as a teacher but decided to resign from the job as I wanted to give time to my children.”
