Jake Gyllenhaal and his girlfriend Jeanne Cadieu have been dating for quite a few years now. Throughout these years of romance, the couple kept the relationship private. Seems like the duo is planning to get married soon. Recently, Jake was asked to share his thoughts on the wedding. To which, the actor said, “I’m supposed to tell The Hollywood Reporter that?” He added, “I’m not going to give you timing.” And then, he took a moment to share his views on marriage and family.
Jake continued, “I think we all get into that space of work, work, work, and for a long time my career took precedence, but I’m at a point in my life where I realize that family really is the only thing that matters to me.”
Although the couple liked to keep everything under wraps, they decided to make their first red carpet in September 2021 at the premiere of The Lost Daughter. The actor arrived with his model–girlfriend to support his sister Maggie Gyllenhaal, who was the director of the film.
The lovebirds went on to make several public appearances ever since. They also walked together on the red carpet during the Paris premiere of Jake’s film Ambulance. And then at the 75th-anniversary screening of The Innocent at the Cannes Film Festival.
Jeanne Cadieu was also seen cheering for Jake during a special London screening of his Road House remake in March.
The reason behind their comparatively fewer media appearances than other celebrity couples is their shared distaste for the spotlight. Speaking about it in a previous interaction with The Howard Stern Show, the actor said Jeanne doesn’t enjoy “all the other stuff” associated with fame. He added, “That’s part of the reason why I just adore her,” he said, clarifying that it’s “not at all the main reason but, you know, one of them.”
