In the 2014 polls this constituency voted in Phase 1 on Thursday, April 10, 2014 and the results were declared on Friday, May 16, 2014.

In the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, Rajnath Singh of BJP won this seat beating Surendra Prakash Goel of INC by a margin of 90,681 votes which was 10.93% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP had a vote share of 43.34% in the seat.
