Starting today, toll fees on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway (DME) and Eastern Peripheral Expressway (EPE) are set to increase by 5 percent.
This update comes from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), as reported by The Times of India.
After the revision, travelers will notice a hike in toll fees. For four-wheelers or light vehicles, toll charges will range from Rs 45 to Rs 160, while heavy vehicles will need to pay between Rs 40 and Rs 250, depending on the distance traveled.
Currently, the expressway stretches for 135 km, with toll rates set at Rs 2.19 per km. Notably, there’s no toll for traffic between Delhi and Ghaziabad.
In the areas surrounding Meerut, toll rates have seen an increase post-revision. For instance, the journey from Sarai Kale Khan to Kashipur toll plaza, covering 82 km, now costs light vehicles Rs 160, while minibuses and light commercial vehicles are charged Rs 250.
Travelers between Meerut and Indirapuram will now pay Rs 110 for light vehicles and Rs 175 for heavy ones. For the Meerut to Dundahera stretch, toll fees amount to Rs 85 for light vehicles and Rs 140 for heavy vehicles. Similarly, from Meerut to Dasna, the toll fees stand at Rs 70 for light vehicles and Rs 115 for heavy vehicles.
