Actor Arjun Kapoor has penned a moving tribute for footballer Sunil Chhetri as he bid an emotional farewell to his fans after India vs Kuwait FIFA World Cup 2026 qualification match at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata. Arjun took to his Instagram story to share a photo of the iconic footballer accompanied by a heartwarming message.
“End of an era. Thank you, Sunil Chhetri for the memories, the passion and the unmatched dedication,” wrote Arjun, who is an avid football fan and is often spotted playing the game with his fellow actors Ranbir Kapoor and Kartik Aaryan.
Meanwhile, Arjun Kapoor has been in the news for his alleged breakup with Malaika Arora. He recently shared a cryptic post about “life choices” on his social media account. “We have two choices in life. We can be prisoners of our past or explorers of future possibilities,” read a quote shared by the Bollywood actor. The quote intended to convey that we can either let the past hold us back or we can look forward and explore new opportunities.
A few days back, Arjun and Malaika sparked breakup rumours after a source informed Pinkvilla that their relationship has “run its course.” “Malaika and Arjun had a very special relationship and both of them will continue to hold a special place in each other’s hearts. They have chosen to part ways and will maintain a dignified silence in this matter. They won’t allow anyone to drag and dissect their relationship,” a source told Pinkvilla.
“They had a long, loving, fruitful relationship that has unfortunately run its course now. That doesn’t mean there is any bad blood between them. They respect each other hugely and have been a pillar of strength for each other. Over the years, they have given their relationship a lot of respect. They will continue to give each other the same respect despite them deciding to part ways. Both of them were in a serious relationship for years, and they expect people to be gracious enough to give them space at this emotional time,” the source added.
However, Malaika’s manager denied the rumours and assured that they were very much together. “No no. All rumours,” the manager told India Today.
