The Red Devils are planning to revamp their squad and in a bid to strengthen the team they have reportedly confirmed seven players who would leave this summer.

Manchester United ended the season with a sensational FA Cup triumph. Playing against arch-rivals Manchester City, Erik ten Hag’s men clinched a 2-1 victory. Despite the FA Cup win, the overall season did not turn out to be a fruitful one for Manchester United because of their abysmal performance in the Premier League.

Manchester United finished eighth-place in the standings and this was their worst finish in the Premier League. Their previous worst finish in the Premier League era was seventh under David Moyes in the 2013-14 season. The Red Devils are now planning to revamp their squad and in a bid to strengthen the team they have reportedly confirmed seven players who would leave this summer.

A report published by the Mirror claims that along with the French duo of Anthony Martial and Raphael Varane, five players will depart this summer and four others have already been offered new contracts. Academy graduate Brandon Williams, who spent last season on loan with Ipswich and made more than 50 appearances, joins Martial and Varane on the list of departees.

Other academy graduates like Charlie McNeill, Marcus Lawrence and Kie Plumley are all set to leave Old Trafford this summer. “The Academy is proud of all our departing young players throughout the age groups. They will be supported in securing contracts at new clubs, provided with a bespoke aftercare programme, and will always have a lifelong association with Manchester United,” the club said on the departing players, as per Mirror.

Midfielder Tom Huddlestone, 37, will now also leave Manchester United. Huddlestone joined Manchester United in August 2022 as a player-coach for the under-21 side. The Mirror report stated that players like Jonny Evans and Tom Heaton are holding talks with Manchester United over their potential new contracts.

Apart from these developments, Manchester United midfielder Casemiro has reportedly been linked with a move away from the club this summer. Manchester United team management will also have to decide on Jadon Sancho‘s future.

Sancho was loaned out to Borussia Dortmund and the English international spent the second half of last season at the Bundesliga outfit. Sancho featured in 21 matches for Borussia Dortmund during his second stint at the German club and registered three goals and two assists.
