Ankita Lokhande has congratulated Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut for winning the Mandi constituency of Himachal Pradesh in the Lok Sabha elections 2024. Kangana, defeated her closest rival Vikramaditya Singh of Congress by a margin of over 74,000 votes.
Ankita took to her X (formerly known as Twitter) handle to share a picture of Kangana. The Pavitra Rishta actress sent wishes to Ranaut and mentioned that she “deserved” this victory. “Heartfelt congratulations, my dearest for this massive win @KanganaTeam ✨ You deserve it and I know you will bring a positive change. Ankita Lokhande and Kangana Ranaut are good friends. The two worked together in the 2019 movie Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi.
When Ankita Lokhande was in Bigg Boss 17, Kangana supported her and hoped for her to win the trophy. Addressing the constant fights between Ankita and Vicky Jain on the show and how it was portrayed on social media, Kangana had said, “Media doing their best to break the family, they won’t show you how Ankita Lokhande’s saasuma (mother-in-law) rooting for her, also love that chuckle in the end… Ha ha too cute aunty, reality shows come and go but family is forever, I hope my friend Ankita wins but not at the cost of her marriage.”
Later, Ankita Lokhande was speaking to Siddharth Kannan when she revealed that while working on Manikarnika together with Kangana Ranaut, they formed a sister-like bond. Hence, Kangana was worried for her during Bigg Boss. “I want to say this, mai Bigg Boss me thi, tab bhi Kangana me meri mumma se baat ki. And jo bhi meri life me chal raha tha, she was very worried about everything (when I was on Bigg Boss, Kangana used to talk to my mother, and she was very worried about everything that was going on in my life),” Ankita said.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday, Kangana also shared an Instagram post thanking the people from her constituency for her victory. “Heartfelt gratitude to all the people of Mandi for this love and trust… This victory belongs to all of you, this is the victory of your trust in Prime Minister Modi and BJP, this is the victory of Sanatan and in the honour of Mandi,” she wrote.
